How do I adjust my Rip Chip?
Your Offering is shipped with the Rip Chips in the “High” position. Follow the steps below to switch to “Low”.
- Using a 6mm hex wrench, loosen the two broad headed bolts (one each side) that connect the linkage brackets to the rear triangle.
- Using a 5mm hex wrench, remove the two smaller headed bolts immediately aft the broad headed bolts.
- Remove the offset Rip Chip inserts.
- Invert Rip Chips so “Low” is upright & legible.
- Insert Rip Chips back into place.
- Using a 5mm hex wrench, thread smaller headed bolts back into place.
- Using a torque wrench with 6mm hex, tighten the two broad headed bolts to 15nm.
- Using a torque wrench with 5mm hex, torque the smaller headed bolt to 4nm.
- Go ride.
How do I release the door on my downtube storage?
- With your thumb, press & hold down on the door adjacent to the latching mechanism.
- With your forefinger, pull the latch outward (not up) & release.

DRIVETRAIN
What derailleur hanger does my bike utilize?
The Offering uses a SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH). These can be purchased on our Parts page, or most local bike shops.
Which bottom bracket (BB) standard does my bike utilize?
The Offering utilizes a threaded BSA 73mm bottom bracket. We recommend pairing bottom bracket & crankset brands to ensure seamless compatibility.
Mixed-brand combination of bottom bracket & crankset? As much as we would like to help, we can’t possibly know the stats of every available configuration. Please reference manufacturer specs for your bottom bracket & crankset to achieve a 55mm chain line with a 73mm threaded BB shell.
What crankset spacing does my bike require?
The Offering requires a 55mm chain line. With SRAM DUB crankset, that requires:
- DUB Wide crank spindle
- 7.5mm drive side spindle spacer
- 3mm non-drive side spindle spacer
- 3mm offset chainring
What size chainrings can I use?
Round: 30-36t / Oval: 32t-34t
Will my bike accept a 2x drivetrain?
No. The Offering is designed specifically around a 1x drivetrain.
Will my bike accept an aftermarket chain guide?
Yes. The Offering has lower ISCG05 tabs to accommodate aftermarket lower chain guides and bash guards.
WHEELS
What is my bike's rear axle spacing?
The Offering utilizes Boost 148x12mm rear hub spacing.
What are my rear axle specifications?
- Length: 175mm
- Diameter: 12mm
- Thread Pitch: M12x1.0
What size wheels and tires fit my bike?
The Offering is designed to accommodate 29" wheels with up to 2.6" tires. Front tire clearance is dependent upon your fork manufacturer’s specifications, although most suitable forks will accommodate that same 29x2.6” tire.
SEAT/POST
What seat post diameter does my bike utilize?
The Offering requires a 30.9mm seat post.
What seat post clamp diameter does my bike utilize?
The Offering requires a 34.9mm clamp diameter.
What is my frame’s maximum seat post insertion depth?
Maximum insertion depths are as follows:
|
Small |
Medium |
Large |
X-Large |
|
232mm |
240mm |
260mm |
295mm |
What is the maximum dropper length I can run?
This answer depends on several variables & requires a bit of math.
First, with your dropper extended, saddle in the pedaling position, measure the distance between your bottom bracket center & the center of the saddle rails. We’ll call this measurement “X”.
Next, we need to determine the minimum possible saddle height with the dropper in question installed on your frame. We’ll call this measurement “Y”.
To determine “Y”, you’ll need to deduct your frame’s maximum insertion depth from it’s seat tube length, then add the desired dropper post’s total length.
- X = Distance measured from Bottom Bracket Center to Seat Rail Center.
- Y = (Seat Tube Length) - (Maximum Insertion Depth) + (Dropper Post Total Length).
- If X < Y, the dropper in question will not work.
- If X ≥ Y, the dropper in question will work.
Translated to English: If the resulting value “Y” is greater than than your bottom bracket to seat rail measurement “X”, the dropper in question will not work for you. If the resulting value “Y” is less than or equal to your bottom bracket to seat rail measurement, the dropper in question will work for you.
If the configuration you are interested in does not shake out, you will need to investigate droppers with shorter total lengths.
If the configuration you are interested in just barely misses the mark, here’s a couple things you can do to squeeze out a few extra mm’s & possibly sneak that long travel dropper in:
- Shorter cranks - reducing crank length by 5mm increases your effective BB center to seat rail center measurement by 5mm (& so on).
- Thinner saddle - every mm that you reduce this value by, will increase your effective BB center to seat rail center by an equivalent measure.
BRAKE
What type of brake mount does my bike have?
The Offering includes post-mount 180mm rear brake studs (PM180). Front will vary depending on the fork manufacturer’s specifications.
What is my maximum rear brake rotor size?
The Offering accepts up to a 220mm rear rotor. Front rotor allowance is dependent on your fork manufacturer’s specifications.
HEADTUBE
What type of headset does my bike require?
The Offering requires a “Zero Stack” ZS44/ZS62 headset. Few alternatives exist. Consult info@evil-bikes.com if you are interested in a headset that you are unsure about.
What type of steerer tube does my bike utilize?
The Offering requires a fork with a tapered steerer tube (1 1/8" - 1 1/2").
What is my frame's minimum steerer tube length?
With zero headset spacers, assuming a stem stack height of 40mm, your Offering requires a steerer length of no less than:
|
Small |
Medium |
Large |
X-Large |
|
145mm |
155mm |
164mm |
180mm |
Fork manufacturers recommend not exceeding 30mm of spacers below the stem. The provided measurements account for 0mm additional stack height (no spacers between stem & dust cap), with a 40mm stack height stem.
SUSPENSION
How much fork travel can my bike accommodate?
The Offering is designed around a 160mm fork, although it can accept anywhere from 150-170mm travel forks, while maintaining reasonable geometry & ride characteristics.
How much travel (suspension) does my bike have?
The Offering has 151mm of rear wheel travel. Recommended fork travel (front) is between 150 and 170mm.
What size shock does my frame utilize?
The Offering requires a 205x60mm Trunnion-mounted shock.
What fork offset should I run?
The Offering is designed around a 44mm fork offset. Other fork offsets will work, although it is important to consider the concept of “mechanical trail” & how that affects a bike’s steering character. In laymen’s terms; all other variables held constant, increasing offset results in a more agile steering character, whereas reducing offset results in a more stable steering character.
Can I long-shock my bike?
No, you cannot long-shock the Offering. Due to clearance constraints, the Offering cannot run a shock any longer than the specified 205x60mm.
What size shock mount hardware does my bike require?
The Offering utilizes 8x30mm lower shock mount hardware.

It is important to note that the Offering's DELTA linkage requires a specific damper tune. Often, a standard off-the-shelf tune will not capitalize on the inherent qualities of the DELTA linkage. Other options may exist. If you are interested in a shock that is not specified on this list, please consult our customer service team at info@evil-bikes.com.
